A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that bonds chemically to your car’s clear coat to form a hard, glass like protective layer. Once cured, it shields the paint from UV damage, chemical etching from bird mess and tree sap, road salt, and industrial fallout. It also makes the car significantly easier to wash because dirt struggles to stick to the slick coated surface water beads up and rolls off, taking most of the contamination with it.

Unlike wax or a sealant, it doesn’t wash off or break down within a few months. Applied properly to clean, polished paintwork, it lasts for years.

I offer two options: a 5 year coating and a 10 year coating, both with full warranty documentation in your name. Real world durability depends on how the car is washed, where it’s stored, and how often it’s driven  a daily driven car parked outdoors won’t last quite as long as a garaged weekend car  but with normal care you’ll comfortably get the full warranty period out of either.

Manchester’s specific conditions (winter salt, summer pollen, industrial fallout in places like Trafford Park) make ceramic coating particularly worthwhile here compared to a milder climate.

For most owners, yes — but it depends on what you want from it. If you want a deep glossy finish, paint that’s far easier to clean week-to-week, and proper protection against the salt, sap, fallout, and bird mess that wreck Manchester paintwork, ceramic coating earns its money back over its lifetime — both in time saved washing and in residual value when you sell.

If you change cars every 18 months and don’t really care how clean it stays, it’s harder to justify. I’ll give you a straight answer at quote stage based on your vehicle and how you use it.

The only things I need from you: somewhere with a reasonable amount of room , space to walk around the vehicle, and time for the coating to flash off before the car is moved. A typical job takes around 6–8 hours. 

Both are professional-grade ceramic coatings and both do the same fundamental job — they’re hydrophobic, chemical-resistant protective coatings. The 10-year version is a higher-grade product with stronger hydrophobic performance, deeper visual gloss, harder cured layer, and double the warranty period.

If you plan to keep the car beyond 4 years, the 10-year usually works out as better value. If it’s a shorter-ownership car or a project you might sell on, the 5-year is plenty. Full breakdown is on the pricing page.

No coating is bulletproof  and I’d rather tell you that upfront than oversell. Ceramic coating significantly increases scratch resistance against the small stuff: light marring, swirl marks from improper washing, and minor abrasion from drying towels.

It will not stop a stone chip on the motorway, a key down the side, or someone reversing into your bumper. For physical impact protection you’d want paint protection film (PPF), which is a different product altogether. Ceramic coating’s job is chemical protection, UV resistance, gloss enhancement, and far easier washing. That’s where its value sits.
