Three Year Lease Deals
Most personal leases run somewhere between 24 and 36 months, and the car goes back looking however you have kept it. A coating that runs the length of the agreement keeps the paint genuinely protected for as long as the car is yours, so it presents properly at collection rather than looking like it has sat through three unprotected Manchester winters.
PCP You're Handing Back
PCP splits neatly into two groups: the people who will pay the balloon and keep the car, and the people who will hand it over and take the next one. If you are in the second group, the 3 Year matches your term exactly. If you are planning to buy it outright at the end, say so on the form and I will quote the 5 Year instead, because that is the better spend on a car you are keeping.

£399 is the smallest number on my price list, which makes it tempting for everybody who reads it. On some cars it is genuinely the wrong answer, and I would far rather say so at quote stage than take the booking and have you disappointed somewhere in year four.
Tell me honestly how long you are keeping the car and what the paint is like, and I will tell you which tier fits. If that turns out to be the cheaper one, I will say so.
WHAT YOU GET
What's Included in the 3 Year Package
The preparation is identical to the 5 Year, machine polish and all. What changes is the coating itself and the length of the warranty behind it. Nothing gets skipped because this is the entry tier, because skipped preparation is exactly how a coating fails early.
Inspection & Paint Reading
Paint depth readings, swirl assessment, water spot etching check and a contamination survey. On a nearly new car this usually confirms the paint is a good candidate. If it isn't, you will know before you book rather than after.
Decontamination Wash & Iron Fallout
Snow foam pre-wash, two bucket safe hand wash, then a dedicated iron remover to lift the embedded brake dust and rail dust that a wash alone leaves behind. Bare paint is the only surface a ceramic will bond to properly.
Tar & Bonded Contamination Removal
Motorway tar splatter, tree sap residue and stubborn bonded contamination shifted with solvents that are safe on the surrounding paint. Even a six month old car off the M60 carries plenty of it.
Clay Bar Treatment
Panel by panel, removing the contaminants you cannot see but can still feel on paint that already looks clean. This is non negotiable for proper adhesion, and the paint glides glass smooth once it is done.
Single Stage Machine Polish
Included as standard rather than sold as an extra. On nearly new paint it lifts the light wash marks and dealer prep swirls that most cars pick up in their first year, so the coating goes over paint at its best. See what a machine polish removes and what it doesn't.
Panel Wipe & Surface Prep
Every panel wiped down with a dedicated preparation solvent to strip out the polishing oils. Any residue left behind and the ceramic will not bond, so this quick step is one of the most important on the whole job.
3 Year Ceramic Coating Applied
Applied panel by panel with a microfibre applicator, allowed to flash off, then levelled to remove any high spots. It is a coating formulated and rated for a three year life, not a longer product applied thinly to hit a price.
Wheel Faces Cleaned & Sealed
Wheel faces cleaned properly, then sealed with a wheel specific ceramic. Brake dust releases far more easily afterwards, which matters when the alloys get inspected at the end of the agreement.
Written Warranty & Aftercare Guide
A written three year warranty in your name with the coating details and application date on it, and it transfers if the car changes hands. Alongside it, a plain English aftercare sheet so you know how to wash without compromising the coating.
THE APPLICATION DAY
What the Day Actually Looks Like
One day at your address, start to finish. You do not need to be in for all of it, you just need somewhere off road for the car to sit and an outside tap or socket if I need one. Here is the order it runs in.
Arrival & setup
I pull up with the full mobile kit, water and materials included. Quick walk round the car with you to go over anything you have noticed, then I get set up and start.
Wash & decontamination
Pre-wash, two bucket safe hand wash, iron fallout removal, tar removal and a clay bar. This is the longest stage of the day and it is the one that decides whether the coating lasts its full term.
Drying & masking
Dried down with microfibre, then trim, rubber seals and badges masked off so nothing gets polish where it shouldn't.
Single stage machine polish
Panel by panel under proper lighting so I can see the corrections happening in real time. On paint this fresh it is mostly about removing the light marks the car has picked up since it was built.
Panel wipe
Every panel stripped of polishing residue with preparation solvent, because the bond between clear coat and coating is the strongest one available and it needs a genuinely oil free surface.
Coating application
Ceramic applied panel by panel with a microfibre applicator, left to flash off, then levelled with a fresh towel to take off any high spots before they set.
Wheels & final inspection
Wheel faces sealed, then the whole car checked over from several angles of light to catch anything that needs buffing before it cures permanently.
Cure period begins
Car stays on your driveway. Don't drive it for 4 hours and don't wash it for 7 days, then treat it normally using the aftercare guide I leave with you.

Why a Three Year Coating Makes Sense on a Manchester Lease Car
A lease car in Greater Manchester does not get an easy three years. The M60 and M62 throw up tar splatter and brake dust in quantities that surprise people, winter brings road salt and grit for months at a time, and anything parked around Trafford Park or Salford Quays picks up industrial fallout that bonds into the clear coat if it is left sitting. None of that damages coated paint the way it damages bare paint, because the contamination sits on top of the coating rather than keying into the lacquer.
The everyday difference is how much easier the car is to keep clean. Water sheets off rather than beading and drying in place, so you get far less of the hard water spotting that Manchester rain and roadside jet washes leave behind, and the dirt that does land comes off with a normal wash instead of a fight. Over a three year term that adds up to a car that still looks like it did on delivery day, which is the whole point when somebody from the leasing company is about to walk round it with a checklist.

Common Questions About the 3 Year Coating
Is the 3 year just a thinner layer of the 5 year coating?
No. It is a different coating, formulated and rated for a three year life, and it is applied to full thickness exactly like the others. Thinning a longer life product to hit a lower price is how coatings fail at eighteen months, and it is not something I would put my name and a written warranty against.
The preparation underneath it is identical to the 5 Year, machine polish included. Every tier gets the same day of decontamination and correction work, because that part is what determines whether any coating performs at all.
I own my car and I'm keeping it. Can I just have the 3 year?
I would steer you off it, and I will tell you why rather than just take the booking. The 3 Year is built for cars going back at the end of an agreement. If you are keeping yours, the protection runs out while the car is still on your driveway and you end up paying for the preparation day all over again to carry on where it stopped.
The 5 Year is £150 more and covers a realistic ownership period, which works out cheaper per year and considerably cheaper than doing the job twice. That is the honest recommendation, and it is the one I would give a mate.
Will a coating stop me getting charged at lease handback?
Not on its own, and I would be selling you something I cannot deliver if I said otherwise. Most handback charges are written for stone chips, kerbed alloys, dents and scuffed bumpers, and a ceramic coating does nothing about any of those. It is chemical protection, not physical armour.
What it does do is keep the paint free of the bird etching, water spotting and swirl marks that build up over three years, so the car presents as a well looked after example rather than a tired one. That helps at inspection, but the honest answer is that it helps rather than guarantees.
My car is five years old. Can I still have the 3 year?
Usually not, and it comes down to what the paint needs rather than what the car is worth. Five years of washing generally leaves swirls and marring that want more than a single stage polish, and once you are paying for a proper correction day it makes no sense to put a three year coating on top of it.
Send me a couple of photos in daylight when you enquire and I will give you a straight read on it. If the paint has been looked after and genuinely is in good order, I will say so.
What happens to the warranty when I hand the car back?
It is transferable, so it goes with the car. The warranty is issued in your name at application, and if the vehicle changes hands the remaining cover passes to whoever has it next. On a lease return that is a small extra bit of paperwork showing the car has been properly protected.
Can I upgrade to a 5 or 10 year coating later?
Yes, but it is a full job again rather than a top up, because a longer life coating needs to go onto prepared paint rather than onto an existing coating. If you think there is a real chance you will keep the car, it is cheaper to make that call now than to pay for two preparation days.
If your plans change part way through, get in touch and I will talk you through what makes sense at that point. Sometimes the answer is simply to run the coating out and book a maintenance visit instead.
Do I have to do anything to keep the warranty valid?
Wash the car sensibly and follow the aftercare guide I leave with you. That means a pH neutral shampoo, the two bucket method or a decent touchless wash, and staying away from the brush wash at the petrol station, which will put swirls into any paint whether it is coated or not.
Beyond that there is nothing you must buy. The maintenance plans are there if you would rather not wash it yourself or you want the coating checked and boosted periodically, but they are optional and the warranty does not depend on them.
